Sharon L. (Whitney) Woodworth, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Born on September 7, 1962, in Scottsdale, Arizona, Sharon was the cherished daughter of the late Stephen and Dolores Whitney. Her early years in Arizona were filled with the warmth of the desert sun, a prelude to the warmth she would carry within her heart throughout her life. As a young girl, her family relocated to New Jersey, where she would go on to live a full and vibrant life in Middletown.
Sharon's life was a tapestry of love, woven with the threads of family, creativity, and kindness. She was the beloved mother of Lauren and Tyler Woodworth, who, along with their father Steven Woodworth, were the center of her universe. Her love for her children was boundless, and she instilled in them the values of compassion and resilience. Sharon's joy was multiplied with the arrival of her cherished grandson.
Her sister, Shawn Cormier, shared a special bond with Sharon, one that was nurtured by shared memories and an unspoken understanding that only siblings can know. Sharon was predeceased by her sister Star Mejia, whose memory remained a guiding light in her life.
Sharon's interests were as colorful and varied as the jewelry she crafted with such care. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books, traveling to distant lands and times through the stories she loved. Music was another passion, providing a soundtrack to her life's moments, both big and small. Sharon's hands were rarely still, as she found joy in crocheting, creating intricate patterns that mirrored the complexity and beauty of her spirit.
Those who knew Sharon would describe her as loving and kind, a woman whose generosity knew no bounds. Her creative soul shone brightly, whether she was fashioning a piece of jewelry or weaving stories that captivated the imaginations of her children and grandson. Her legacy is one of love and artistry, leaving behind creations that will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to receive them.
Sharon's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the enduring strength of familial bonds. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her.
