Neil W. Deeken, 70, of Keansburg, passed away Thursday, June 8th. Neil was born in Passaic, on February 2, 1953, a son of the late Gloria and George Deeken. Neil was raised in Pennsylvania. He moved to New Jersey in the 1970's where he met his wife Irene. They settled in Leonardo to raise their family. In 1999, he moved to Red Bank and lived there until recently moving to Keansburg 2 years ago.
Neil was a computer operator at Expedite Computer Systems. After his computer career, Neil volunteered for the Monmouth County Food Bank. In his younger years, Neil enjoyed playing basketball. Football was another sport he liked to watch and the NY Giants were his favorite team, although you may have thought otherwise since he was always yelling at them. Neil loved being on the water. But the one thing Neil loved the most was being "Poppy" to his 3 grandchildren.
Neil is survived by his wife, Irene Deeken and their 2 daughters; Danielle, wife of Matthew McNish; Kristen, wife of Shaun Peterson and their son, Arthur Deeken. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren; Charlotte, Shane and Brielle along with a sister, Karen (Charlie) Billings, and a brother, Brian (Joan) Deeken.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday from 3 - 5pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service will conclude the afternoon.
In Lieu of Flowers, please consider a donation to the NJ Sharing Network as due to organ donation, we were gifted and additional 18 years with Neil. https://www.sharingnetworkfoundation.org/Contribute
