Eugenie L. Gray, 92, of Red Bank, peacefully passed away Friday, October 13th. Genie was born in Manhattan, NY on November 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Susan and Charles Lenz,I. She grew up in Staten Island, but lived most of her life in the Jersey Shore area.
Genie was a publisher at McGraw Hill. She founded the magazine Computers for Design and Construction. Later, she went on to be a consultant with the Navesink Network. Genie also volunteered her time to teach English to underprivileged children and was on the Auxiliary Board at Riverview Hospital. She could be considered a bit of a renaissance woman; ahead of her time and possessed an array of knowledge. Genie loved staying active. She enjoyed swimming, playing tennis, gardening and a good game of bridge with her friends. She will fondly be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend.
Genie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alexandra and John Lamia along with her brother, Charles Lenz, II. Genie also leaves behind her granddaughter, Suzanne Lamia and her dear friend, Martha Connomy.
