Colleen M. Doherty

June 11, 1957 ~ February 3, 2021 (age 63)


Colleen Mary Doherty, 63, of New Egypt, passed away Wednesday, February 3rd. Colleen was born in New York City on June 11, 1957, a daughter of the late Elizabeth and Cornelius  Doherty. She was raised in the Inwood section of the city and moved to Jackson, NJ in the mid 1980's. She later moved to New Egypt to be with her daughter and family in 2017. Colleen's love in life was her family. Everything she did centered around them. She loved to host family gatherings! She enjoyed all the preparations of cooking, baking and planning the perfect gathering. There was always music playing in her home and she could often be found dancing and even cleaning to the beat of her favorite songs.  She had a special bond with each member of her family. Colleen will always be remembered as a loving and doting, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  
   Colleen is survived by two children; her daughter , Maryellen Gordon and  companion Dinver McClure, of New Egypt; and her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Amy Ringen of Berlin, MD; and their father, Ray Ringen. Colleen also leaves behind  her brother, Paul, husband of  Netty Doherty, and her sister-in-law, Barbara Doherty, widow of Neil Doherty, along with 3 grandchildren; Bailey Rose, Dylan and Addison; her Goddaughter and niece, Liz Kelly: niece, Jill (Randy)Farrington; nephews; Paul (Angie) Doherty, Timmy (Mary) Doherty, Peter (Joelle) Doherty, Adam (Jenn) Breen; niece, Jennifer (Jason) Gonzalez and many great nieces and nephews.  Colleen was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Maryellen and James Dalton. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date once the Pandemic restriction are lifted.
