Carol Anne (Catherwood) Clark

Carol Anne Clark, born on August 28, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on June 29, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by devotion, warmth, and a spirited sense of humor. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Catherwood and a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, where she built her life, raised her family, and formed the many lasting connections that meant so much to her. Carol carried herself with a quiet strength and a generous heart, and those who knew her will remember her as loving, kind, and funny, with a personality that could brighten any room.

Carol was the beloved wife of Robert Clark, who predeceased her in 2018. She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Napolitano and Christine Culmine, and by her six grandchildren, Dominick (Jackie), Dean (Kenia), Daniel (Corral), Justine, Johnathan, and Joseph, as well as her two great-grandsons, Dean Carlo and Jaxson. She also leaves behind her brother, Kenneth Catherwood; her sister, Barbara Plumer; her two stepsons, Robert Clark, Jr. and Michael Clark; and her stepdaughter, Jill Clark Coughlin. She was also predeceased by her brother, Warren Catherwood.

Carol devoted many years of service to Brooklyn College, where she worked in the library from 2007 until 2020. Her work reflected the same steady dedication and care that she brought to every part of her life. She was appreciated by colleagues and remembered for her reliability, her wit, and the easy kindness she extended to others.

Outside of work, Carol embraced the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. She loved music and even attended Woodstock, an experience that reflected her appreciation for memorable moments and the spirit of an era. She loved animals, especially all her fur grandbabies. Cooper, Oakley, Maui, Skipper, Callie, Penny and Buddy will surly miss all the love and attention that she gave them. Carol enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking outdoors, and cooking, and her chicken cutlets became a favorite among her family. She also enjoyed relaxing with a cocktail at the end of a long day, a small ritual that suited her easygoing nature.

Most of all, Carol treasured time with her family. She found joy in being surrounded by those she loved, and she gave that love freely and consistently throughout her life. She will be remembered as patriotic, witty, caring, clever, and a bit of a jokester, with a warmth that made her unforgettable to those fortunate enough to know her.

Carol Anne Clark leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were touched by her presence.
