Richard W. Meislohn, 90, of Blakeslee, PA. passed away Saturday, October 23rd. Richard was born on December 27, 1930, the only child of Dorothy and Walter Meislohn. He was raised in Keansburg, NJ and lived most of his life in the Bayshore area. He and his wife Marjorie purchased a vacation home in Blakeslee, PA, in 1986 and retired there permanently 20 years ago.

Richard joined the National Guard when he was 17 and went on to serve in the US Army Reserve for twenty years. Richard was a grocery store manager for Safeway, Finast, and Foodtown.

Richard was an avid reader and always had a book in his hand. He was dedicated to liberal ideals and a lifelong democrat. Richard loved swimming. His mother taught him to swim at an early age and it was a passion that he enjoyed all his life; he regularly swam 5 miles in the Sandy Hook Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Richard was on the water polo team when he attended St. Peter's College and on the swim team at the New York Athletic Club. He was an outdoor enthusiast; he focused on caring for wildlife.

Richard always dreamed of having many children and was very proud of his large family. Richard was predeceased by his wife Marjorie Meislohn in 2020; his son Richard J. Meislohn; his great grandson Jimmel J. King, his son in-law John G. Dale, and his former wife, Agnes Convery Meislohn. He is survived by his children, Christine Meislohn, of Shrewsbury; Georgette King, of Florida; Renee Meislohn, and her husband Patrick of Middletown; Mitchell Meislohn and his wife Diane of Florida; Adrienne Dale, of Highlands; and Lynn Robbins and her husband C. Jay, of Virginia; along with 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
